Jury Comments: As one on a number of institutional buildings, this building appears to stake-it’s-claim as a landmark design worthy of it’s context, yet representative of it’s time. Missing from this design are the intrusive building services that are almost completely concealed from view. The white-on-white interior highlighted with points of visual interest plays well with the gallery function – not to be overlooked is the diminishing crease / shadow line on the surface of the wall in the main concourse. Circulation throughout the public spaces allows visitors the opportunity to engage the Art.
