Jury Comments: How can a modest room be infused with such dominating geometry and still look that good? The plan representation of the two curves as, counter tops, a bookshelf, closet, drop ceilings, and seams on the floor, breaks the strong geometry into a variety of elements that contribute to reinforce this organizing gesture...The interaction of the curved partition / bookshelf with the existing focal point, the hearth, suggests that a protective and safe place has been created where spoken words are free to unlock ones imagination. The challenge of segregating the small library into an opportunity for a small variety of functions the design successfully achieved its mandate.
