A proactive dedication to producing successful projects and developing competent future architectural professionals has distinguished Shawn P. Wright among his peers.

 

AIA Buffalo/WNY recognizes Shawn P. Wright for demonstrating exceptional professional promise. In the five years since its founding by Mr. Wright and Jerry Young, Young + Wright Architectural has grown from a staff of three to seventeen. The emerging firm was honored this year by Buffalo Business First as a Best Place to Work in Western New York Finalist and has ranked among the magazine’s Fast Track 50 for the last two years. Mr. Wright is also a recipient of the 2008 Buffalo Business First 40 Under Forty Award.

 

As Partner-in-Charge of Design and Delivery, Mr. Wright employs his 16 years of professional experience, proficiency in detailing, and focus on quality construction documentation to mentoring and managing a team that has designed more than 100 projects, ranging from small scale residential and retail renovations to new assisted-living facilities, for clients that include several regional public school districts and area developers.

 

The commitment and enthusiasm with which Mr. Wright approaches his professional endeavors are also evident in his numerous community outreach efforts. In support of his advocacy for raising the awareness of professions in the field of architecture, he co-created an architectural internship program at Eden Central High School, regularly guest lectures at the Buffalo Charter School for Applied Science and provides internships and guidance to students from a broad spectrum of regional schools and universities.
