Young and Wright Architectural is offering exciting opportunities to aspiring architects and designers that are looking for a place to learn, experience and grow. Located in the Larkin District in Buffalo NY and in Downtown Rochester, we pride ourselves on offering experiences that provide our staff the chance to discover all aspects of the architectural and construction industries. Positions currently available within our company are as follows.

Drafting and Designer roles for candidates with 0-3 years experience that will learn and practice daily activities for creating project plans, specifications, technical drawings, sketches, renderings, existing conditions drawings, field measuring, and code analysis. Successful candidates will be exposed to all areas of project development that are required to complete the IDP program to become eligible for licensure.

Project Architect roles for candidates with 3-7 years experience will be responsible for creating the complete architectural package of drawings, specifications, code compliance plans, details, cost estimates, and project designs. The role involves working with a team that includes a project manager, drafters and designers and engineering consultants. Successful candidates will be involved in schematic designs through the completion of construction and be required to maintain project schedule and quality control.

Project Manager roles for those with 7 or more years experience will be responsible for the overall design and management of multiple projects. This includes communications with clients, oversight and management of the Architectural team and all of the project consultants from engineers to contractors. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining client budgets and schedules, coordination of meetings and submission of projects through public agencies.


Qualifications for consideration of any position include a degree in an architectural based college program, proficiency in CAD based programs, communication, time management and organization skills, and a desire to grow and learn.
